Recall that the article was written by a Graphics Artist running a website. He MAY have opinions that differ from the rest of us folks. I'm comfortable with the current color schemes and would place any effort to improve on content or capabilities rather than artistic appeal.

Please don't liven up the design. I think design artists get carried away with their own creativity. Many websites are cartoonish (in my opinion). Designheavy websites distract from the content. I especially don't like the ones with moving illustrations. I think Mexconnect is what it is and has led the pack for 20 years (in my recollection) because of content and easy maneuverability. Liven it up? Maybe at this stage of life I'm half-dead? Will be interesting to see what others think.

It ain't broke......don't mess with it.
I've noticed that things can easily get over-livened up to the point of unreadability. Seen any business cards or ads where the jazz obscures the point: the name, nature of the business and the contact info? I have; too many. KISS.

Concur fully with Geri.

Recently was handed several free copies of Sintesis, apparently a national newspaper in Mexico (the country) that is new here in Mérida. Saw them proudly featuring a story about their winning some design award.

Well, the newspaper was lovely, just empty of news. Hey, it made USA Today seem wordy.

Like MXC as is, content rich and readable! Thanks.
