So, Another navigation aide for using Mexconnect . . .

Hola to all forum users.
We are happy to announce that we have instituted a new method of exploring the depth and breadth of Mexconnect's resources.
If you look at the Navigation Bar above you will see the item called Indexes. Hold your mouse over that word and begin a new journey into areas of rich information.

Enjoy and let us know what you think!

David, Carol, Tony and the folks at Gossamer Threads.

Hi David, nice idea, but … I was about to post asking "what's wrong with the site"!! Maybe it's just me, but those detailed menus keep popping up when I'm just trying to get back to (say) the forum index, and I have to actively move my mouse far down the page to make them go away, then slowly back up from the bottom to the forums index, being very careful not to go too far. Then when I click on the forums Index, the menus come back again and I have to evade them again! Maybe another location on the page would be better, where it's not so easy to activate them by mistake? Or better yet, require an actual click to activate them, rather than just a mouseover?

Thanks,
Kate

Hmm, I see what you mean!! It is supposed to work as on the Home page, but something is currently very wrong with the Forum page display. I'll follow up with the techies first thing in the morning to see what's happened.

Hi Tony, it seems to be working properly now. Now that I see how it's supposed to work, it looks like a stylesheet wasn't attaching before, so that instead of styled dropdown menus I was getting a huge multi-level text "outline" that showed the content of all the menus and was taking up a huge portion of the page. I'm using Google Chrome 18.0.1025.165 in Mac OSX 10.6.8, in case that might help the techs figure it out. Many thanks for
following up.

Maybe our outstanding tech support was pulling an all-nighter! Fingers crossed that it now keeps working as intended.

Hi fordmexico (and anyone else currently experiencing an issue with the forum page display).
Our technical support team believe they have now fixed the issue.

Can you please try a "hard refresh" for the page - ie one which completely reloads the page from our servers, and does not rely on any previous cached version in your computer memory?

For most browsers, Cntr+Refresh/Reload does the trick.

More details about bypassing cache on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Bypass_your_cache

If you still experience a display problem, then please let us know which page/pages it affects and the operating system and browser combination that you are using so the techies can try to replicate (and then solve) the isssue.

Thanks for your patience! The index pages rock!

I am using an unusual browser - Pale Moon, from www.palemoon.org. It is basically a hopped up/stripped down version of Firefox. It is much, much faster than Firefox. So I don't if one the disable features of Firefox is at fault, but the instant popup of indexes, which I would rarely use, makes it hard to navigate threads. It takes up about 1/3 of a screen.

Sorry - couldn't edit my post, there must be a time limit (?). Anyways - Control F5 worked for me.

Thank you all for the many years of tweaking and improving. Mexconnect is a premiere info/communication resource which emerged and evolved from a tumultous and mysterious time.

Always good to know that something actually worked as intended!
And now I'll try to remember that Cnt+F5 works if the moon is pale...
