Anyone use chia seeds in their kitchen?
Currently we use chia seeds as :
An add in to aguas fresca or jugo
A topping to oatmeal or cereal
Baking things like muffins, cookies or breads can have some chia seeds added in without changing the recipe much
I read somewhere you can make a chia seed "gel" by simply adding chia seeds to water, stirring, waiting five minutes, then whisking thouroughly and refridgerating. Then , you can use the gel for many things- the one application I remember well is using the gel to cut half and half with mayonaise. I cant stand mayo, but the inlaws use it frequently and Im trying to make it a bit healthier. Supposedly this does not change the taste.
(I will search for thislink and be back when I find it)
My next project will be to sprout chia seeds and eat the sprouts
