MANIX Restaurant Review - In Ajijic

Seventeen of us from our Community went to MANIX restaurant last Wednesday night. It was a farewell party for our neighbors who are returning to Texas. They were originally from Texas and want to be near their grandchildren.

We ordered our drinks. Then we ordered either Tortilla Soup or Garden Salad that comes with the meal. The dressings were on the table in bowls: Ranch, Blue Cheese and Vinegarette. Hot rolls and bread came at the same time.

After we relaxed awhile, we ordered our meals. Several people ordered the Special which was Grilled Salmon Teriyaki over a bed of rice. Several ordered the Osso Buco. It is favored by some in our group. They have it only on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Some ordered the Veal Valdostanna which is thin strips of veal with prosciutto and cheese. You can get it with Fettucine Alfredo or baked potato, veggies and corn souffle. I order the latter. One person ordered Mahi Mahi. One person ordered the Fettucinne with Shrimp. There were too many shrimp to count. Only one person didn't like the Salmon. She said it was fishy. She returned it for another meal.

The dessert was a rum cake with pecan ice cream was on the house because of the size of the group.

We highly recommend MANIX restaurant for good food and consistency.
