While my last post answers kmetzger's question, it is rather specific to his situation. I've decided to modify it to make them generic instructions that are not Guad-specific so that they might be useful to more people. Here's the generic version: A. To call a land line:
1. From another land line: From within the same area code you are in, dial the number without the area code. For example, for the number 376-555-1234, and assuming you are also in the '376' area code, you dial "555-1234". From outside the area code you are in, dial the entire number with the area code plus the '01' long distance prefix. For example, for the number 376-555-1234, and assuming you are not in the '376' area code, you dial "01-376-555-1234". 2. From a cell phone: From within the same area code as the cell phone, dial the number without the area code. For example, for the number 376-555-1234, and assuming your cell number is also in the '376' area code, you dial "555-1234". From outside the area code of your cell phone, dial the entire number including the area code. For example, for the number 376-555-1234, and assuming your cell number is not in the '376' area code, you dial "376-555-1234".
B. To call a cell phone:
1. From a land line: From within the same area code as the cell phone, dial the entire number including the area code plus the prefix '044'. For example, for the cell number 376-555-1234, and assuming your cell number is also in the '376' area code, you dial "044-376-555-1234". From outside the area code of your cell phone, dial the entire number including the area code plus the prefix '045'. For example, for the number 376-555-1234, and assuming your cell number is not in the '376' area code, you dial "045-376-555-1234".
2. From a cell phone: From any area code, dial the entire number including the area code. For example, for the number 376-555-1234, you dial "376-555-1234".
NOTE: While most cities have a 3-digit area code followed by a 7-digit local number, some very populous areas have a 2-digit area code followed by an 8-digit local number. Two examples are Mexico City (area code '55') and Guadalajara (area code '33'). I hope this clarifies the general rules. Garry Musgrave
