As posted on another board, the aprox cost was 1000 to 1800 pesos including the urn. This was done br the Dres Ladrón in Riberas.

Also suggested on that same forum - you can save the money by doing it yourself in your fireplace!

You don't have pets do you? If you do, I feel sorry for them.

Sarcasm? That really was a suggestion on another forum and the poster said they had always done it that way. As far as pets go, you will find few larger pet lovers than I and I sure as heck would never cremate one in the fireplace!

It was not sarcasm, at least not on my part. The comment, on another board or not, was in poor taste at best and cruel, at worst. Let it go.

Only cruel if the pet was still alive.

Agreed. Let's not confuse respect with sentimentality.

"To the owner."

If you are referring to the pet being the owner, then you are spot on! For those humans who think that they are the owner, they obviously have not received the memo!

Let me state it in such a way that perhaps even you will understand my position. I believe it to be cruel to an owner to suggest that he cremate his beloved pet of many years in the family fireplace. After that, every time you have a fire in the fireplace the memories of that event will be there. Perhaps this should also be an option for spouses when they die or perhaps amputated body parts. Personally, I could not do it. Has hints of the WWII concentration camps in it for me. I will comment on this no further.
