CFE after hours Phone Number

Can't Post | Private Reply
Does anyone know the CFE after hours phone number ?

Out power is out in some areas in Zapopan and no one is at the local CFE office due to it being a Holiday ?

I have asked several neighbors and they do not know who to call when the office is closed.

Power has been out since around 1 am (Feb-06-2012).

Did you try 071?

CFE has a number to report outages here in Morelos state. If you try to call them to report an outage, no one answers the phone.

As to the other emergency numbers for various agencies, your call will be promptly answered, by a recording. After listening to what a great job they are doing, there is usually no opportunity to ask for an ambulance, police, or bomberos. They are generally useless.

It is better if an ex-pat chooses to live in a non ex-pat community. Get to know your Mexican neighbors, they will know who to call for help, it is different for every city. Speaking some Spanish is a good thing too.

I learned that if you tell CFE that a tienda next door or close to you is also out of power, they repair the electric faster.

The power was restored at 5:20 pm, that is around 17 Hours.

The tienda had no power, but sold all their ice.

Dial 071 from what service provider (land line or cell phone )?

071 is the CFE emergency number that is answered 24/7. It is on your CFE bill. Didn't you call it?

I see the number under:
Avisos Importantes
-Servicio a Clientes Telefono 071.

When I call this number from my cell, nothing happens like it is waiting for additional digits.
I thought that it was an extension to enter when calling another number that I do not know.

Maybe from: 1515 3233 I do not know for sure !

It doesn't work from a cellular phone.

Don't ask me how I know this. Grrrr. Just think, "Where was Moses when the lights went out?"

As far as I know, NONE of the TelMex three digit numbers (info or emergency) starting with 0 can be dialed from a cell phone. At least none of the ones I have ever tried.

I've called 071 from my cell and it worked. I don't know why it didn't for anyone else unless it has to do with location.

There should also be an emergency, non 071, local number to call.

I dunno, Axixic. When I asked them why it didn't work to call from the cel, they just said sorry, it has to be from a land line.

Which of course doesn't work unless you have one with a cord, since the others go out when the electricity goes off.

*sigh*

Which is, of course, how I know this.

Hmmm -- dialing 071 from my cell phone DOES work (punch in 071, then hit the call button, as with a regular number). Not sure why others have a problem.
on the other hand, the Telmex 3-digit client service number (055, I think) does NOT work from a cell phone...so if our Telmex phone is out, I have to go to a pay phone to report it!
Good luck!

I have a cheap corded phone for the times the electric is out. You can buy one for $50 pesos at a store or less at a garage sale. They come in handy.

Yepper, we certainly have one now. We got it on Amazon, but not for 50 pesos.

The hard part is finding a garage sale. Remember we're in the DF.

Or, a Bazaar as a garage sale here is called. I bought a wired phone at Bodega Aurrera for about $50 pesos not too long ago. Street vendors sell them cheap also.
