Larry Allen is missing?

  | Private Reply
On another forum, it has been reported that Larry Allen, who lives in Puerto Corona on the south side of the lake and who has operated Nacho's Trash and Treasures consignment shop in Ajijic for the seven years that I have lived here has not been heard from by his friends since December. I know Larry, maybe some of you do also,. He shook hands with his left hand as his right hand was deformed. I would guess him to be about 69 years old. I want to know what happened to him and if he is OK or not and what is going on. Can anybody help? fug

I sent an email to someone who lives near the house Larry rented and I'm waiting on a response. Maybe he knows if Larry still lives there or if anything happened to him.

Larry and I were good friends for five years and then we went our separate ways for no particular reason. Have been to his home many times. The guy would not hurt a fly. He was and hopefully still is a great guy. I just want to get to the bottom of this. It may be significant to know that Larry was a gay man and leaned towards young Mexican men. In my opinion , we have lost two other older lakeside men this year for establishing a relationship with young Mexican men and then they were killed and robbed. Two were caught. Thankfully, fug

Please let us know what you find out. This man was a fairly public figure here and now has disappeared for over three weeks with no contact to anyone? This does not look good, fug

The person I asked replied that Larry is dead and has been cremated. He said, "they are questioning if he died of natural causes."

Please pm me more details, such as who authorized cremation and the questionable circumstances of his death. Is this the fourth death in lakeside by young predators on elderly gay men in the last 12 months? fug

Seems to me a good time to question this would be before cremation.....

I know of only one. Alan Turnipseed. Do you know of another?

In another post you mention four. I doubt your figures are correct.

Older gay men are asking for major problems by associating in any way with younger Mexican men. You never really know their background or their intentions.

I'm sure the body was examined, whatever needed tests taken and circumstances investigated. The body can offer up so much information and then it is disposed of.

The information I received is from someone who lived near him and he wrote that the rented house was trashed, utility bills and association fees owed, etc.

I, too question if he died of natural causes. It was reported on another forum, that there was no crematorium in GDL that had cremated him. I also believe in Mexico that the law is that any corpse found later than 24 hours must be autopsied. Not sure, but I know a body has to be autopsied if found later than 36 hous of being deceased. Just went through this this a few months ago. fug

I know of two others here and four in total, including PV. Also had an older friend in Ajijic poisoned, hospitalized and near death due to the same issue. fug

Why are you sure of this? His house was a museum of collectibles. Not necessarily museum quality, but anything that could not fit in his consignment shop in Ajijic, called Nacho's Trash and Treasures was stored in his home. Hell, I could hardly move around as stuff was stashed in every room from floor to ceiling. A poster on another forum said that the house was totally cleaned out by Nacho, Larry's ex whom Larry told me wiped out a joint bank account to the tune of almost 50,000 USD, which was Larry's money and left him financially devastated, as he had minimal SS and living off the consignment shop, which was not doing well, about 3 years ago when Larry found him unfaithful and kicked him out. They had a civil union in the States maybe nine years ago. I know. I saw the pix. fug

First, I don't know how long after the body was found that it was cremated. It could have been days or weeks later. It was called a suspicious death so I'm sure it was examined and then disposed of.

I was told by the neighbor that the house was trashed. I don't know if that means he lived like a hoarder or the house was trashed by someone looking for valuables.

With all the stories of couples where one person takes the assets of the other, it seems people would learn not to have joint accounts.

Don't shoot the messenger. I didn't know Larry. You wanted to know what happened to him and I asked someone who lived near him.

Haven't you noticed yet that many people post on forums what the voices in their heads tell them?

How does anyone know that no crematorium cremated him? Did someone call every funeral home that arranges cremations? In this case perhaps the state of Jalisco took care of it.

From what I was told, his death is being investigated. Why does everybody assume he was immediately cremated and the body wasn't examined without any evidence that it is true? No one has said how long after he was found that he was cremated.

You are correct. We are now just going into major speculation and rumor mongering. I know some facts about his and Nacho's history, but as I said Larry and I have not had contact for a couple of years and a whole lot probably changed in his life, as it has in mine, during that period. Just wish I knew the truth, but will probably never know. Thanks for your help. fug

He could have died of natural causes. Maybe nothing is suspicious about his death. Most expats are older, retired, and can die suddenly from heart attacks, strokes, etc. This place is like living in an retirement home where dying is not unusual.

I do not believe for one minute that he died of natural causes. Who had his body cremated and where did it happen and where are his cremains? And his house was ransacked? I was with you until you got to this point. Even his neighbors, as in more than one, are suspicious. Too many loose ends to accept the finality of your statement. I have a few leads and I will pursue them and get back to this topic when I know more. I know you did not know him and have little interest in this, but I did and do. fug

You don't know that he didn't die of natural causes.

The neighbor didn't tell me that the house was ransacked. He said it was trashed, meaning not well kept.

He could have had a prepaid funeral plan for a cremation, a relative might have ordered the cremation, or if no one knew what to do, the state of Jalisco has to dispose of unclaimed bodies which is probably through cremation.

There are many funeral homes that offer cremations and probably only one or two crematoriums. A crematorium probably won't give you the name of a body it cremated and you need to call the right funeral home and get the right person to find out who took the body. The funeral home could be local or in Guadalajara. Good luck finding the right one.

Why not drive over to Puerto Corona and talk to his neighbors who probably have more information.

Since it is very clear that no one posting here knows what actually happened, let's give it a rest until someone has actual facts.
