Batur boat ride out of Chapala

Went on the boat ride yesterday, expecting a 2.5 hour ride. We left at about 6pm from the east side of the Chapala malecon, with about 150 passengers. But there was a problem due to the low level of the lake: the boat had to anchor quite a way out from the shore, and the passengers had to be ferried in--10-12 at a time--by the one small boat that the company had available. It was almost 11pm by the time we got back to shore, and the waves were quite choppy by then. Quite an adventure!
I suggest that, if you're considering the ride, you go on the 1:15 Sunday trip rather than the 4:15 one. That way, you may get back before dark and before the winds come up.
It was a fun ride, overall, with lots of dancing and beautiful vistas all around. By the way, the tickets cost $180p each.
