Yesterday, Feb. 28, Governor Padras Elias arrived for the laying of the first stone of the Convention Center. All the underground work is completed and they are starting the above ground work.
Quite a few people were there for the stone laying and, fortunately, the weather had gone back from being very windy to being lovely.
A few weeks ago the Governor was here for the ground breaking of a public beach area where lakes, retail shops, etc. will be built - making it an attractive destination for a day on the beach.
