Does anyone have any recent (say in 2011) experience with having a crown placed by Dr. Barragan in Chapala? If so, about what did the crown cost (just the crown placement... not any other preparatory work such as extraction, etc.)?

From our recent experience working with Dr. Barragan, I would guess that he will answer your question directly:
