I'm looking for information/recommendations of smaller towns to explore in northern Jaliso. I'll be in Aguascalientes a few days (any suggestions for hotels between $30-40) and then bussing to GDL. I'' have a couple of days to get there. I'd like to visit some off-the-beaten-track places. I have a great love for Mexican artesania, archeological sites and colonial architecture.

PS In GDL I've stayed at the Hotel Cerventes on the west end of the historic district. That was years ago. Any recommendations for comfortable hotels in the $30-40 range?
