Did you here about all of the murders up here in the greater Seattle area? I'm coming back to Lake Chapala where I feel safer, and as Chinagringo knows the weather is a tiny bit better :)

Not to put too fine a point on it, but the story of the woman and her boyfriend started appearing in mid-December. The story of the injured Canadian caught in the cross-fire was a year ago.

I'm curious, Mensamia, do you live in Mexico and focus on deaths of foreigners because you are concerned for your own safety?

"....do you live in Mexico..."

Not according to a former Post. But the rest of your observation is certainly spot-on.

Click on mensamia's profile and then 'Show User's Posts'. No one post that doesn't concern foreign deaths. Strange on almost any level. Macabre may be a better word than strange.

But then we all have a right to have doubts, don't we.

Bravo! You beat me to the post. As an expat living in Mazatlan, I, like many others, am growing tired of "Chicken Little" postings. It's too bad this forum doesn't have an "Ignore" function, so we don't feed the trolls.

thanks jr, didn't see those posts.

fugawibil:..there is an ignore, just do it... or do you need a button?

Rick. Yes, the crime rate is the only thing about Mexico that does concern me so that is why most of my posts are about murders of expats. FYI, I have a piece of land in Mexico but before I start excavating for the foundation, I want to be sure that I am not digging a grave. No pun intended. And thanks for recognizing my right to have doubts.

Everything you write about Mexico is doom and gloom. There are murders on Florida beaches, yet people have no fear of traveling to Florida. If you are looking for a place with a zero violent crime rate, try Antarctica. You will feel very safe there.
