I have a 1998 Ford Explorer XLT in excellent consitions with a couple of small exceptions. It was a US manufactured vehicle and legally imported to Mexico. Mileage is 136K. Engine is fine not using oil nor burning it. Interior is Camel colored leather in great condition. Color of the body is black. If you are interested send me an email: daque@yahoo.com. It is in the Chapala area. A really great vehicle but just more than the kid needs to run back and forth to school so we are loking to down size. Online this vehicle here in Mexico lists at $53K and I am asking $49K. I don't dicker but there is a little wiggle room in the price depending. It is licensed in Jalisco.

You are talking $ 53 K pesos correct?

I have a 1998 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer which I'm not selling, but the KBB book value with 100 K miles is about $ 3,600 USD. in perfect condition.

Thanks for the confirmation. $3,600.00 USD equates to $48,600.00 in Pesos calculated at 13.5 exchange rate. Additionally, cars of equal everything are more expensive here in Mexico so the price is a bargain as I have it listed. I really do not know the differnces in features between an Edddie Bauer and an XLT but this vehicle is as close to perfect as they come. And yes, here in Mexico the value is $53K in Pesos.

The differences in an Eddie Bauer vs. an XLT is that it is the best model with the most features. It has special leather interior, special colors not available on other Explorers, premium sound (4 speakers + subwoofer), fm/cd radio, running boards, roof rack, rear seat air conditioning/heating, different wheels, larger tires, an electronic console that checks everything from oil pressure, water, mpg, instant mpg, miles driven, miles to go, gas used and gas remaining. Yours might be worth less if it's a standard V6 or more if it's an SOHC V6 or even more if it's a V8. The SOHC V6 and the V8 are Ford's best engines.

The Ford Explorer, no matter what model is the one of the "best" vehicles on the road for frequency of no repairs. I will put it up against ANY other American or foreign vehicle including Toyota, Nissan or Honda, of which have costly repairs. Fords are super reliable and very cheap to repair.

With you mileage, an XLT full power in Excellent condition is $ 3,569. In Very Good condition is $ 3,394. 3% of vehicles fall into Excellent cond category. 23% fall into Good category. The Eddie Bauer under the Excellent conditions is $ 5,250. and in Very Good cond is $ 5,075.

John,

Thanks for the numbers. Hard to come by. I know that there is an increase in sales price here in Mexico for the same vehicle. Do you know what percent this may be?
