My favorite Guanajuato hotel is the Hotel Embajadoras, on the edge of downtown. There are beautiful gardens around the interior. The hotel is moderately priced and very secure, with free internet service. It’s an easy walk to El Jardin, or fast cab ride. If you are there for Cervantino Festival, the area is very quiet. A covered market is across the street. Park your auto outside your room. It’s nothing fancy, but the staff is nice and the restaurant is great. For comida, as you are walking on Ave. Juarez, to the Mummy Museum, try La Carreta, The Wagon Wheel. You can’t miss the rotating rotisserie chicken in front. Phone 473-731-0105 for reservations. If you are driving, the main entrance to Guanajuato, with all the tunnels, notice that one is marked Embaiadorasas. Take that one! It's also a great way into town, if anyone is crazy enough to drive into those tunnels. Feliz viaje, David .
