Just a note to anyone looking to return to the US without spending mucho dinero. My husband and I looked and tried to hire someone to drive us up to Nuevo Laredo, but each one fell through. We decided to move up by bus. We chose ETN, bought our tickets, and rented one of the cargo bays of the luggage compartment. The tickets bought and enough space to place 18 or so medium to large packing boxes cost us a little more than $300 USD for tickets and cargo space together. Be ready with small bills to tip willing helpers at both ends. At NL, we were able to hire a trans-border moving company with a pick-up, rode in the cab with the driver, and crossed without any problems. We showed our military IDs with our passports and US Customs and Border Control just asked questions and sent us on our way. We bought a van in Laredo and completed our move in comfort. Good luck! Don't worry, we'll be back to visit!!!!
