.Hi everyone, Just finished the FM3 process which started back int Seattle in August. Assuming all of your documents where in order and your funds paid in Seattle which took 1 day. Add a few more hours mostly sitting in the Immigration office in Manzanillo which resulted in us needing to come back in 3 1/2 weeks. We arrived in the office about 0900, sat around for a few minutes and was waited on relatively promptly and 30 more minutes, several finger prints and several signatures later and we're out the door. So, the high points are Seattle: Mexican immigration form, Bank statements with letter stating that you would be willing to transfer a sum of money to a bank in Mexico, passports and a copies of the from pages, State Police Report stating no criminal record, @$130 USD each. Manzanillo Immigration 3 front view pictures, 2 side view pictures which ended up being smaller than passport size, a few signatures, a right and left thumb print. Now then, we hear from various folks down here that come January 1 there is some changes planned. One opinion is that the 1 year term may be lengthened to maybe 5 years. That may be wishful thinking but it seems there are more changes to come. The Car deal is also done, paid $200 + $48 administrative fee on a credit card at Nogales. for a car 10 years or older. Custom officials in Manzanillo said that as long as the FM3 was in force nothing more needed to be done. We have not yet surrendered our $248 but frankly speaking if we do, the car is here and no big deal. that's between you, me and fence post! I'm pleased with the outcome and life is good!
