3. Pay taxes as required by laws

I'm starting a new thread on this even though a little voice is saying 'you idiot!'

For me, the title above is what this was all about. As I reread the posts I found that there are statements, given as fact, that categorically refute another's fact. I don't believe any of us know the answer for sure, but one thing is for sure.... we believe we do and by god we're sticking with our belief!

So true! A probable majority of the members of this forum were born and raised in societies that have led us to believe that rules, regulations and laws are applied equally and fairly. On top of that, most have egos that lead them to believe they are right. Where do our knowledge of Mexico come from? Forums, Internet research, personal experience, tales from others, etc.

Mexico is a case study in inconsistency but we don't seem to be able to grasp the fact that there are few absolutes in this wonderful Country!

Sorry, Chinagringo we often agree on things, but I have to heave a mighty horse laugh at the idea that "rules, regulations, and laws are applied equally and fairly" in the US as compared to Mexico. If someone has just landed from the planet Zyrmex, it might at first appear so, but as someone who lived there for the first 59 years of my life, I can attest to the fact that it is far from so. The perception of that unfairness and inequality and stacked-deck manipulations is what the whole Occupy Wall Street movement is about.

Jim:

Please take note of the phrase: "led to believe". That certainly leaves the door open for interpretation! However, there are far too many people who have bought into the concept and they are the prime candidates to believe.

You are right. I missed that qualifying phrase.
