Looking for house to rent in Lake Chapala area

Hi,
As many of you know I have been purchasing a home near Toluca but had to go back to Phoenix due to my health.
We have an opportunity to repurchase our home in Villa Victoria but have decided against it due to the isolation and my health. We have decided to move to the Lake Chapala area as there is a strong support system and Guadalajara is so close . We have been to Chapala 3 or 4 times and love it. We are ready to move in the spring or summer of 2012. I've looked at the houses for rent in the Rent, Sale, Exchange forum and the pickings are slim. Does anyone know of a house that will be coming available in our time frame?

We are looking for a minimum of 2 BR and 2 bath house with a fenced yard, that allows small pets for less than $800.00 per month. If you know of any please PM me here or email me at drmike00@yahoo.com.

You will have absolutely no trouble finding a house to rent that is that size, at that price, especially since you'll be arriving in the spring/summer when a lot of the inventory becomes available (after the snowbirds have left).

There are several property management companies that handle rentals in the area, plus there are property managers who have solo websites, plus there are lots handled privately by the owners with "se renta" signs hung out front. If you google "lake chapala rentals" you'll see tons.

The choice will be yours!

If 'Spring' means March or after, you will have no problem finding a casa to rent as that is about when the snowbirds start their exodus.

There are several agencies that manage rentals and they have websites. I've listed a few below. The first one looks like a group of gringos, and not an agency, who have set up a website.

Thank you, Rick for the information. I did not know until Tashby and you responded that there were snowbirds down there, too. We are covered up with them here in Arizona. I will check out the websites you listed. I probably won't come down until April or so, so hopefully there will be plenty of places for rent.
