Looking for shared accomidation or room!!!!

I'm ready to get out of the cold canadian winter thats coming my way and want to head to mexico. If anyone has any info on a room in a shared apartment for rent that would be great. I'm looking to either go to cabo san lucas or accapoclco or playa del carmen. I'll be coming down beggining to mid november, and wanting to stay at least six months, but need very cheap accomidation. Would I be ignorant to come down and look for work, as the internet just isn't working for me. I'm 21 and will do anything for work. I just don't have the money to stay long without a job.
Thanxs to all who respond!

it looks as though we're in a similar situation. my spouse and i are also planning to go to mexico this winter (in january) to join up with his parents. they've been there since august. my husband's mom is teaching english and his dad is hanging out! they are really enjoying it there. we are definitely ready to split the cold front that is heading our way.
nice to know there are others like us!
good luck to you.
(our destination is the puerto vallarta area)
-alicia and bob

Hi Sean, Here in Cabo San Lucas if you really want to go budget you can rent a room in a Mexican neighborhood for less than 150 US per month, with a bathroom. This would be in a noisy neighborhood with roosters, loud music on the weekends, etc. It would be a cultural experience, but can be kind of fun. If you are energetic you could get a job as an OPC, working for the time share industry. You might have to pay for your FM3 working visa, but if you are hired they make it easy and only costs around 200 us. Lots of young folks from Mexico, US, and Canada do this, they get some housing allowance and comission and the hours are good. Lots of people really bash the timeshare touts on the boards, but it is a do able way to enjoy a nice place. Some do quite well. You would need to come with a small nest egg to cover your expenses (say 2000 US) and be prepared to leave if it didn't work out...Lots of Canucks here.. especially from BC
Start practicing your Spanish
Cheers
