To Whynotwrite - a serious admonition to not take personal shots at people. Discuss the topic not the alleged character of a poster.

Re: [Bennie García] Flights to Mexico - availability suggests a busy season ahead

Bennie makes a good point of some people still coming to México but opting to fly in place of driving. . . . . . . . With several friends in the manufacturing arena in Queretaro as well as Baja, I know for sure during these trying times of the cartel activity, many of these companies are now requesting their marketing personnel to fly rather that drive. This is not only because of the Mexican problems with the cartels on the highways but because it is simply a much easier way that going through all the garbage with the blessed TSA and wait times, not to mention regional airports are much closer to many manufacturing destinations that regional airports with smaller facilities can handle more appropriately.

I also wonder of the increase in charters between NOB and Mexico. There is a newer boom on in the "Fractional Aircraft Programs. The costs are a little higher than a standard ticket but for convenience, timesaving and ability to reach outlying manufacturing plants in both USA and Mexico as well as SA and Europe, it really does make economic sense. Many times these fractional Aircraft companies will sell unoccupied seats on a return to home base rather than pay the high ramp fees for wait time and flying back empty to home base. http://business.highbeam.com/industry-reports/transportation/air-transportation-nonscheduled and http://www.selfgrowth.com/articles/travel-green-with-empty-leg-charter-flights

The taxes saved on a Fractional Aircraft Program is substantially less than using International commercial Airports. All of these landing fees even for connecting flights in and out of a commercial airport are added into your ticket as pretty hefty rates versus very economical rates for Rural or Regional Airports. /www.irs.gov/businesses/small/article/0,,id=186838,00.html#PersonsAirRuralAirports

It really is a relatively new market and as I do not plan on giving away all my secrets, you might want to start here and do your own homework http://search.aol.com/aol/search?enabled_terms=&s_it=comsearch50&q=Fractional+Jet+and+Charter+jet+companies

A few hours research can save you a bundle in airfares! (smiling) Yes . . . . . . . . even here in Mexico! (smiling)
