Pata: While there are many of us who would really like to view the positive side of Mexico, the fact is that there are some real problems that one needs to accept in today's Mexico. When forum members post firsthand knowledge of incidents, they are providing an important service to those gathering information on which to base decisions. When other members go into denial because they have never experienced the same, are they not doing a disservice? I happen to be a fanatic on gathering information and trying to make informed decisions. Back in August, we made a trip to Central Mexico and I made travel decisions based upon information gathered. Chose not to drive down as had been our normal procedure. Flew into GDL and did a 1888 mile trip in a rental car through Jalisco, Michoacan, and Guanajuato. Did we experience any problems? NO! But did incidents happen around us? YES! Just because it didn't happen to us doesn't mean that it cannot happen! Regards, Neil Albuquerque, NM
