Maybe. What do you offer? There are two or three companies here already. How will you compete with them?

I've been in business before them. I have my own repair shop. I have all systems installed Directv, Dish, Shaw, Bell. I offer all receivers in all ways....... Let me give you a hint. We were the first dealers in offer Dishnetwork in Guadalajara, I remember we used to install a dish 1000 model. We have 25 years over the roof.

Where did you install Bell? The last time I checked the footprint, there was no way you could get it in Jalisco. Could you at one time?

PS I remember how upset all us C banders were 25 years ago (Jan 25, 1986) when HBO became the first to scramble their signals on what we thought was truly "free to air" satellite.

Last time I installed a Bell system I used a 1.80 meters antenna and I had almost everything. My costumer wanted venus channels. I used a Dreambox with a iks system maybe 8 moths ago.

Yep You are right about the C band. We had a Echo 3 with a 5 mts antenna with a lna amplifier. After the upgrade we used a black box GI descrambler with a chaparraL gabinet.

I didn't know you could get Bell in Jalisco. You might remember Bill Martin who began building (manufacturing) and selling 18 foot prime focus satellite dishes in the early 80’s before I moved down in 1997. Luckily I inherited one on my used house. Now my largest prime focus C/Ku dish is only 12 feet in diameter. I also have 2.4, 1.8 and a 1.2 meter Ku band offset dishes should I need something larger when Anik G-1 is activated at 101.1 West late next year. I gave my DISH receiver back to DISH (they owned it) about a year ago. I have too many channels to choose from as it is. Yes I still have a 4DTV and a free to air receiver attached to the movable prime focus dish but haven’t had either on in more than a year. I’m getting lazy. It’s easier to pay for what I watch' I also just activated a Shaw Direct 600 receiver on Monday that also picks up the new Mpeg 4 format that Shaw is upgrading to, that I will bring down with me when I head south All I watch now in Mexico, I get from digital Telecable and Shaw. I stream audio on an “app” or three from iTunes, but never video. Good luck

Sadly, you asked a question and none of us have answered it. I don't know the answer either. I wonder if anyone else here would know.

I guess it is like anywhere else, it depends on the projected costs for your services. Are they more economical than the very expensive competition Etc. Sorry I can't help you more (Pero, soy codo) Not really :)

Help me with this. As you probably know, you can get dish programming using a iks service ( got the dish receiver connected to a router and get all programming includes ppvs and xxx channels for less than 20 bucks a month. Here in Guadalajara almost all the people have it in this way. Do you know if this way of getting the programming is well known in Chapala?

Are you talking Dish USA? If so, I don't think that is understood in the Chapala area.

Iks means Internet keys shearing so you can have all channels includes ppvs and xxx just adding a special router to your dish receiver.

No, not too many folks here play around with IKS (internet key sharing) for DISH Network lakeside. I have changed services. I don't believe there is IKS with Shaw Direct.

I'm getting lazy and find it much more reliable and simple to subscribe to the service in question.

Some folks share or stack accounts with Shaw Direct. And the last time I talked to Shaw on the phone, earlier this week, they kind of sort of checked to see if I was stacking. I was in front of only one of my now three receivers and said when they asked if I could get in front of the others, I said no, just turn them off until I'm at my other residence. You couldn't do that if you are stacking.

Yes Iks is working on Dishnetwork only. It works flawlessly, you have all channels includes ppvs and adult. You only need to have internet.......

IKS for Dish Network has sort of been working for some systems. Dish Network started cracking down on IKS and account stacking about a month ago. Dish shut off accounts and shut off receivers for suspected cheaters, and required the suspected cheaters to send in a power bill, phone bill, etc to prove that the customer actually had a physical US address in the area for which they had Dish accounts, before they would turn that account back on.

Dish's actions shut down a number of IKS servers and their customers' service this month.

Iks systems are working without any problem. Dish can't cracking any iks because is not a way to do it right now. Dish can change the authorization keys and that's the way Dish is using. But you can fix it with any problem.

Your IKS server/supplier must not have been attacked. I know people who still do not have ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox etc for the past month since Dish started shutting off suspected IKS accounts and stacked accounts, while our local legitimate Dish accounts have been working fine. Dish does shut down IKS by turning off the Mexican server's Dish account until the Mexican servers prove their US physical address.

You are right somo iks providers have a lot of problems with their system. We have ours working fine, btw, we have distant networks working ok.

Now we are offering all ppvs SD and weekends 4 ppvs HD. I'll go to Ajijic this saturday to find a place.
