Accomodation in Morelia

Can't Post |
We are going to Morelia for the first time in mid-January so we can check out language schools for a future trip.

We are looking for a clean, quiet place to stay in mid-range. We have heard of 2 bed and breakfast places - Casa Camelinas and Paramor Amado Nervo. Does anybody know of either place? I think one is much more upscale but is in the burbs. We also want a chance to practice our pathetic Spanish.

Any other suggestions would also be welcome. Thanks so much. We have the LP Guide but much prefer personal recommendations.

Both Casa Camelinas and Parador Amado Nervo are nice, respectable places. Casa Camelinas is more upscale, in a residential neighborhood across the street from the Planetarium and Civic Center, and much quieter. It's an easy walk to Camelinas and accessible to public transporation. And it's walkable to Baden-Powell.

Another B&B, new on the scene, is the Casa Aurora Belen http://www.mexonline.com/auroradebelen.htm, located at the edge of Santa Maria de Guido, also accessible to public transporation. This is a beautiful property around the corner from where I live. Feel free to mention my name to the owner.

In each of these properties, you will have plenty of opportunity to practice your Spanish. The owners of each are cognizant of the needs of their guests -- especially language students -- and I think they'll all encourage you to use your Spanish.
