This article contains the many of the same things already presented in earlier Mexconnect threads, in a single pretty package.
As a sidelight, I offer the small caution that some of Yucatan Expatriate Services other articles have factual errors in their descriptions of laws and rules. Their helpful article also trailed this law's kick-off date by about 3 weeks (if timeliness is important to the reader/user).
Another aspect of the YES website is that Yucatan Expatriate Services has a main for-profit business of offering services to expats to help get these permits, to get visas, etc, which also means they tend to leave key details out of their website if you are trying to do things yourself.

I am not anti-YES, they do a lot of good for their customers here in Yucatan. I simply note that as a for-profit business, YES operates their site differently than RollyBrook's and Yucalandia's sites.
