Army humvees in Jocotopec today

Can't Post | Private Reply
I just saw this myself as I was driving from San Juan Cosala to Ajijic at 1:40pm today. There were 4 army humvees heading toward Jocotopec. Men were dressed in full army camoflage with helmets, protective goggles, and one man on each hummer was stationed at a mounted automatic gun.

The later around 2:30pm I went to eat at Laura's Kitchen in El Chante and coming out of Jocotopec were two federal police trucks followed by an armored vehicle and then followed by two more federal police trucks with light flashing. Never saw anything like this here before.

There is some rumor on the Jocotopec boards that I won't repeat because if is just rumor.

I was in Zhuat when the soldiers were guarding the town after someone threw a gernade.
I found the troops to be very professional and easy to talk to. I am only saying this in case
someone is worried about interacting with the troops. After a few days I just saw the soldiers
as something normal in my life and I was not scared of them in the least. They were very nice
people.

Just listen to the radio and 'denuncias' and how to make them are broadcast regularly. Another of the many announcements made by the Federal Government daily

Maybe they are just making themselves seen for those who might otherwise start trouble. Maybe just a visibility thing like when Police in the States sit on the sides of the highways.

john is probably correct. while this was going on in jocotepec we were having fun in the chapala plaza with the transito moto acrobats who had also set up recruiting booths and info re: dl,etc. they even let me ride with them. more fotos on my forum.
and yes the jefe of transitos was there and we had an interesting discussion about the lay of the land here on the north shore. link below.

Stop the presses, this has to be a first, John and Pedro agreeing on something? - even if unlikely. To imagine there are no cartel activities, stash houses etc. here on our lovely N shore is like the (now disproven) statements of Friday morning that the US rating would not be downgraded - fantasy, bogus, misguided.

where drugs are sold there are cartel guys and this is a weekend wonderland ain't it? so yes there are minor cartel guys around here and probly some bosses living in nice houses. the sky is falling stough that some around here keep spouting because a few army trucks have been present is truly a hoot! thankfully it carries on on a coupla forums that thrive on that sorta thing where they can pat each other on the back about it. it is a good dumping ground fer bodies though.yes me agreeing with johnny boy is indeed strange.
