Take a look here.
And while you're there, take a look around my website for a lot of other useful information.

I didn't notice the date of the OP so I sent the link of the OP's complaint to lakechaplainsurance.com who represents GNP and other companies. Within a few minutes, they had contacted GNP to get to the bottom of the OP's problem.

That is an agency that cares about customers and the companies they represent.

Lakechapalainsurance.com is part of Mexpro.com an agency that is listed on Rolly's website. Mexpro opened an office here so they can better represent the customers they have here.

I purchased GNP insurance online through AAA for my Michigan registered Ford Fusion. It was the least expensive of the 5-6 quotes I received. I also could pick and choose my coverage very easily to lower the cost yet still receive full coverage.

I have had one claim where a city delivery truck in the DF clipped my passenger side mirror and then kept going. GNP never did come to the scene. After 1 hour, I went back home. A GNP adjuster came to my home that same evening and reviewed the damage , gave me a claim number as well as a list of recommended repair facilities. The wait here would have been 4 to 6 weeks here in the DF. Since I was returning to Michigan anyways, i had the repair done there. It took several calls and about 6 weeks to receive the insurance proceeds. GNP claims people were very helpful overall. Had I repaired my car here I would have paid the deductible directly to the repair facility and GNP would have paid them directly as well. Overall, I have been satisfied and have continued to use GNP.

I had GNP too when I had an accident. Since public property was damaged, I had to go to the delegación (like going to the police station) and couldn't leave until they let me go. The insurance adjuster went there with me and stayed with me until the lawyer sent by the insurance company arrived. The lawyer stayed with me at the delegación about 8 hours until they finally let me go at 9:00 pm, and then he gave me a ride most of the way home. He also met with me two further times when I had to go back to the delegación and sign some papers in the following weeks. So I was very satisfied with not only the settling of the claim and repairing of the car, but also the “hand-holding” provided by the adjuster and the lawyer. They never left me alone to deal with the police or bureaucracy on my own.

Oh, this is really peripheral to the main story, but I'd better clarify. When they finally let me leave, we exchanged information on which way we were headed. That being done, he said, “I'm going the same way as you up to point X, will you be all right if I drop you off there?” Considering that 1) he had no obligation to give me a ride at all, 2) for me, point X a was a short taxi or bus ride from my home, but for him taking me any farther would have sent him into a traffic labyrinth and quite a bit out of his way, that was fine with me.

I just bought a policy with this San xavier Mexio Insurance

I paid for only liability $300,000 The damage to third party property and damage to persons total $300,000
So if a car is totaled worth $25,000 I still have coverage for $275k for damage to people.
covers lawyer rep as well. I payed $192 I know there are cheaper but I like the $300k coverage.
Can't say how they are just got them and car isn't even in Mexico yet, for that matter neither am I. But soooo close

GNP ?????? NEVER again. Jan. 2007....bought GNP ins. at the border driving to Leon and the car caught on fire in San Luis Potosi....GNP said it was my fault that the motor had no oil and that's why the car caught on fire. It took 2 1/2 years to have a judge award me the money. And they didn't pay everthing that the policy allowed.

We have car insurance from: mexadventure.com
They sell insurance from several companies and are located in the states.

Just as in the states, collecting on a policy could be a real problem, but it is better to know what companies are easier to work with.

I second this recommendation. With the exception of one trip when we purchased through Costco, we have always used this outfit and have been quite satisfied with their offerings. Always opt for the "platinum" coverage. We had one claim for towing back in 2005 and it was handled promptly without argument.
