Totalplay-Quadrupleplay-Internet

Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of Iuacell's Internet, phone, telephone and TV offering called Totalplay? They seem to have launched and then re-launched in the DF and are expanding to Tuluca, Merida, Cuernavaca. They advertise fiber optic with 5 Mbps down and 1Mbps up in combo with phone and a basic 120 TV channel package for $499 pesos/month. Other packages, up tp 100 Mbps down with More channels plus HD are as much as $3499 pesos per month.

I ran across them on a DSL reports forum. Presently, I use a basic Telmex DSL and phone package ($328 pesos) plus SKY ($170 pesos). Not sure if Totalplay is fiber to the door or a combo with a WLAN/ WiMax network. We had e-GO (service suspended/no longer available) for a while but changed to Telmex.

With the advent of Netflix coming here I would like to economically upgrade our Internet service. Our basic service from Telmex has been satisfactory (813 Kbs down) for our current streaming and downloads as well as our VOIP- but just barely

So far, I have not found anyone with much (if any) knowledge of Totalplay and would like any input from members here. Thanks..

Here is the link I found for Totalplay

I went to their home page and linked to the area they cover. Once I discovered they did not have Totalplay coverage in the greater Guadalajara area, I didn't check the rest of the Mexican map that closely. But it looks like they are only available in parts of the greater Mexico City area and Toluca (and you also mentioned Merida & Cuernavaca)

Sadly because I am so far away from the coverage area, all I can say is, I'm jealous. It looks great.

Have they run fiber-optic cable to your neighborhood? Do they have plans to?

No fiber yet in our fraccimiento. There is fiber being installed in many areas around us, however. Since independent contractors are doing the work I am not sure if it Telmex, CFE or a cable company. Telmex has also been working almost daily at the end of our street. I suspect that if we do receive better Internet it will not be fiber to premises (FTTP) rather it will be FTTN similar to what we had with U-verse in Michigan. Fiber was run to a node then went by ATT copper to the homes.

It has been difficult to obtain much information about Totalplay, thus my post here.

Hello!

I've just looked into this service today, I didn't get as far as pricing because they don't have coverage for Cuernavaca yet. They told me they will later on this year. Sad, because I need something now.

P.S. I've looked at their facebook fan pages and they're filled with complains.

Does anyone here use it and have complains about them?

It seems they've introduced some NAT system which gives the same IP to an entire neighbourhood and that restricts their hability to download files or something similar...
