Is it possible to finish INM (FMM > FM3) process in another city?

Can't Post | Private Reply
we filled out our online forms and went to the Bucerias office to finish the FMM > FM3 process.
we have been informed we need an Apostille for our under 18 daughters birth cert, which needs to be sent to the US for this and then returned (DHL). we left INM with nothing else processed until we return with the Apostille. this will create a delay and we plan on moving to Guanajuato on July 15th for the summer. At this point it's best for us to apply for a FM3 in that area. so...

-does anyone know if we can carry over our started form in guanajuato or san miguel?
-or do we left one expire and start a new one online?
-or do i need i go back to the bucerias office and have them cancel the existing form?

thnx, bill

Did you receive a NUT and contraseña? When you check your application's status on-line with your pieza number, do you see a "31/05/2011 - Registro de alcance " notification? Have you paid yet?

If you have had your claim accepted and registered, but not paid, it may be faster and easier to write INM a letter abandonening the Bucerias claim, and restarting a fresh claim in Guanajuato (to avoid having to wait for the Bucerias office to transfer any already filed paperwork). If you do not have a NUT or Registro de alcance notification, then Bucerias has not even registered your application, and you can proceed freely with a fresh app in Guanajuato.

all that happened was i filled in our info online and then printed the resulting pdf.
when i took the form to INM the women went over our info that we would need.
we did not fill out any paperwork nor did we pay, just a check to make sure we had the proper papers.
when we got to the Apostille everything stopped and was told to get one and then come back.

If you have started paperwork in one office, you better not try to confuse things by continuing somewhere else. It could really turn into a headache.

Since you have not filed any paperwork and have not received a NUT or contraseña, then you can take your documents and the Pieza # into the INM office of your choice.

You must deal with the INM office that serves the place where you live.
So yes, you will need to show an address within the service area of the Guanajuato office.

Amen,
Clearly you must have an address and comprabante that match your online application. If the address you are using to apply in Guanajuato differs from your previous online application, then reapply online with your new address, and take your new Pieza # to your local INM office and get registered.

I don't know the names of any of the streets in San Miguel Allende but is near the bus station, I think the hours are 9 am to 1 pm. The advantage to Leon is if you need copies or a letter typed there are people right across the street to handle anything you need. The address there is Av. Roma #910, col. Andrade hours 9 am to 1pm, wherever you go it will take more than 1 trip, I would say at least three times. You will have to pay the people across the street but if you only have copies or a letter ot two typed it does not cost to much, there is also a bank near by(one block) where you can pay after you get the form to pay. At either place is best if you speak spanish or have someone who does with you.
