I'm planning to go to Oaxaca for a few days next fall and I'm going to set a day aside for hiking in the surrounding mountains. It seems that my options are: Los Pueblos Mancomunados, Ixtlan de Juárez and Santa Catarina Ixtepeji. I'm hoping someone here who has been there can recommend a particular hike.
I'm interested in hiking in a cloud forest, but I have seen some pictures of people standing on top of a mountain with the clouds below them and I would love to hike to a place where I would be rewarded with such a view. I'm wondering if the two can be combined: a hike through a cloud forest with a mirador at the end. Any suggestions?
