Last Saturday, the Mexican Army located a Zeta "narcobodega" in Camargo, Tamaulipas. Story with numerous photos:

Seemingly the one thing these armored vehicles lack is protection for the tires. While a vehicle will still run/progress if all the tires are blown out, it will be a very limited and slow progression it would appear.

If you go to the above link, apparently there are "run flat tires" which allow a vehicle to continue at speeds up to 60mph depending on road conditions (scroll down the page about halfway). I would guess that the Zetas can obtain these just as easily as weapons.

You can buy run-flat tires retail that are based on stiff sidewalls but these are intended for short distances. Militaries usually use polymer rings inside the tire that will let it run even if the rubber is totally destroyed.

Ah, heck... I'm disappointed they didn't have an armored semi-trailer, like in Lola la Trailera 2. Anyway, what's the big deal with a home-made tank... it seems gangsters have been pulling that trick ever since gangsters started using motor vehicles.
