Hello, This is a great forum! Looking for some advice. So, I own property in Q. Roo and hired a "contractor" last year to obtain permits. We didn't have a formal contract, just email correspondance. He was not sucessful in obtaining permits, so the building never happened. Last year he mentioned that he spent more than what I wired him (mostly his fees) and said he would eat the differnce. Now 6 months later, he's sending emails demanding the difference - over 50% more than what I've already paid. It's my understanding that Mexico allows mechanic's liens, so how easy are they to get and enforce. BTW, he didn't do anything with or on the land - it was just professional services. Does any one have any advice for this type of dispute. Thanks
