I was introduced to the phrase "pueblo chico, infierno grande" by a friend from Guadalajara, and it's definitely "small town, big hell". Ajijic is the first small town I've ever lived in. The phrase is highly useful. I'm helping some folks with English and they've taught me some good ones lately. I hope I get these right: "Me tiene hasta la madre" (Which I take to mean to be completely and angrily fed up with something) There's another one that makes me laugh, but I don't think I have it right. If you're asked how things are going, and everything's going fine, it translates literally something like, "Everything's on wheels". Something like that. I think I heard.... "sobres ruedas" Does anyone know if that's it?
