I and a few of us live in the Xalapa/Coatepec/Xico area. Catamaco has a few and so does the port of Veracruz. Rumors of people living in Costa Esmeralda (north of Naultla/Casitas). Some in Cordoba/Orizaba. VillaHell is not a place frequented by gringos unless they work for Pemex.

I would think to 2 largest concentrations of expats along the gulf would be from Campeche to Champoton and Progreso west and east......

If Merida is considered "Gulf Side", then Merida would have the greatest concentration of expats.

Most live in the US. Between Matamoros and Puerto Progeso (Merida), expect to find less than a hundred permanent gringos on the coast. Add a few hundred Canadians south of Merida. (PS - this does not include the very few inland cities like Catemaco and Merida)
