ShawDirect/StarChoice losing channels

I have two Shaw DSR's: a 319 and I think the other one is a 209. Beginning last month I started losing channels on the 319. Now I'm down to just US networks [except PBS] and a few Canadian channels. The 209 is fine and gets all channels I subscribe to [Both boxes are connected to the same 120cm dish ]. I've called my vendor in Quebec and he is aware of some boxes losing channels but this was the first time he heard of it happening on a 319. He didn't have any idea of a cause or a fix. Has anyone else experienced this problem? - and if so, have they been able to solve it?

I have had Star Choice now Shaw Direct for more than ten years and have never heard of this type of problem. I am sure you have gone through, getting a rehit, unplugging the receiver etc, etc.

I'm also sure you checked with your local satellite dealer, the one who installed your system.

Pete, Thanks for your reply and experience. Maybe I'm just the odd man out. I was hoping if others had the problem that they found and would share the solution [probably "buy a new box"]. I'll wait a few days and then contact Mike Kohl up in Wisconsin.

PROBLEM SOLVED! Got a new 209 brought in and the problem wouldn't go away. Tried the new unit in my casita and it worked fine. Tried the one from the casita in the main house and problem re-occurred. There was nothing else left to test other than the RG-6 cable which proved to be the culprit.
