Buenos Dias, I’ll like to know if anybody can let me know this:
I live in Yucatan with FM3 can I get “curp” number and where can I apply for it.
Thank you for your help.

Are you sure you don't already have a CURP? Look at your FM3 card. Does it show a CURP number?

Here is a list of offices where you can get a CURP The list is arranged by states, and it is long.

Rolly, as usual, is correct. If you have the plastic FM3 card, the CURP number is correct. However, I had to go in and apply for original CURP documentation when I renewed my IMSS. took about five minutes and no cost. Take all identifying paperwork and your passport and proof of residence with you. T

I got a curp perhaps 2.5 years ago. It was very simple to do in the Ajijic office, but at the time it was and may or may not still be very difficult to get in Chapala. So of course I got mine in Ajijic.

Well guess what? I have been using a facilitater to get my fm-3 for maybe 12 years now. I neglected to tell them that I had a curp and so when they sent in my data to renew my FM 3 early this year, I got the new plastic FM 3 card back and where you are supposed to see my alpha-numeric CURP there is just a blank space.

Oh well at least I have a curp # on another card

It's not universal, I have a FM3 card, no CURP.

As others have said, if you've renewed your FM3 within the last year, you should have your CURP printed on it.
If not, you can go to the STATE Registro Civil, in Merida (Calle 65# 520 x 64 y 66) -- that is where I got my CURP about two years ago. They only wanted my FM3 (but it's not a bad idea to bring your passport, and some utility bill as proof of address) -- no copies. It took about five minutes. At the time I applied, the station for CURPs was in the central patio of the building, but if it's not obvious, just ask.
You'll get a paper ''card'' with the CURP on it -- you can then have it laminated (at a papeleria or copy center), if you wish.

Well, that is strange. I have fake CURP numbers on many items, but the true CURP number was on my renewed plastic FM3, which I took with me into the office in Ajijic to apply for my CURP for IMSS, She seemed as surprised as I was that the number was correct, but I needed original CURP card for IMSS. Mexico is a country where each of us have had unique experiences and there clearly is no standard. Curps appear on everything, but most of them are incorrect. The Curp on your plastic FM3 is correct. I have no understanding of why some of you have no CURP number in that spot. What I do know is that if you have never gone to get your original CURP number and card, you need to do so. Easy, quick and free. Then you have real proof. T

I got my FM3 in Feb. without a CURP. Went to a local Municipio service office in front of Soriana in Manzanillo to get one (a card). Checked on a new CEL fone at Coppel and she said she could give me one (probably not a card)

My CURP was incorrect because the Registro Civil confused my middle names and family name. I explained this to INM when I went to renew my FM2 last year. The agent said it wasn't important (to them at INM) until time to apply for inmigrado status, so they issued my new card without it. Now I have the CURP corrected, so this year it will be included.

Immigration gave each of us a sheet of paper with the CURP details on it and told us to get them laminated - I'll get around to it one day - I assume this will be our "original" CURP.

I have had the same experiences as you. They just make up CURP numbers. The one on my Jalisco driver's license is wrong. The one on my cellphone is wrong, and yes, they are both different. FM3 has your correct CURP. But if you have IMSS, they want the original certificate when you apply or renew, will not accept it on your FM3 so I got it. Just sharing my personal experiences my personal experiences. Others may be totally different, as we all know. You can renew your FM3 without a CURP, as they have the ability to give you your correcct CURP identification. T

Did you get what I did? An 8.5x11 inch of sheet of white paper, copied on their copier? It appears that the upper one third is the Curp card, which is clearly, not a card at all, but a flimsy sheet of paper. I, too, was told to laminate it and carry it with me at all times, for reasons clearly unknown to me. Glad, I still have the ability to laugh. T

Can't write back right now. Bought a laminating machine. Figure it willl take me about two weeks to laminate everything the Mexican government says I should carry with me. Where can I get a wheelbarrow? They are not going to scare me away T.
