Looking for an apartment to rent in Queretaro

Can't Post | Private Reply
for 2 months next winter, mid January to mid March, preferably in or near the historic center, in a safe area, must be close to public transport. I'm a single retired Canadian lady, well traveled, avid amateur photographer of historic/colonial buildings, I speak passable Spanish. Minimum reqtms: 1 bedroom, bathroom with shower, natural light, kitchenette with fridge, hotplate, microwave, must have internet connection/WiFi & cable TV. Rent range US$500/month including utilities, would consider paying more for a nicer place. Any leads or tips greatly appreciated.

brecky,

I live just south of Queretaro and have worked and stayed in Queretaro on numerous occasions before moving to our small pueblo just 25 minutes south of Queretaro. Queretaro is not an inexpensive city. I am sure that somewhere there is some apartments such as you looking for but I really doubt you wil find all you are looking for that price range. Furnished (barely), cable and wifi (doubtful), including utilities (doubtful). The only way you JUST MIGHT find that is to be on the streets looking. You might try looking here, but your chances are slim to none for the price range you are looking for, plus all the other "wants" you have.
http://queretarocity.olx.com.mx/...nts-for-rent-cat-363 You also might try here. http://rentar-casa.vivastreet.com.mx/...partamento+queretaro Judging from the number of folks looking at your posting, I would say you have a lot of competition for the same "gold mine find".

Does anyone here know about the Reposo Real - suites El Jacal - at Hacienda Sta. Barbara 105, Tel: (52) 42 16 8120?
http://www.suitesreposoreal.com.mx/English/Principal1_en.htm
I found this suite hotel on Biz-stay.com but the hotel's Prodigy email addy/link doesn't work. If anyone can get an email link for me, I would appreciate it. Any comments, positive or negative about this place, are welcome.

I've lived near there, it's an iffy area, quite a distance from the colonial section. There are some nice homes in the area but this is in a larger apartment complex that has seen it's day.

Thanks Kathleen, I think I'll pass on that one. I may run some potential places by you to get your opinion, if you don't mind. I could do it via private email, if you prefer?

You might check with HOME B&B, in the Centro Histórico. Shelley may have an apartment with kitchen. http://www.queretarobandb.com/index.html

We've stayed with Shelley a couple of times and she is great! A real salt-of-the-earth type who has encyclopedic knowledge of what to see and do in Querétaro. Also, she is a gourmet cook, so don't miss any of her breakfasts! Finally, Shelley is very well connected with the expat-community (it's pretty small) and probably would be happy to connect you with others, as she did us.

I did a series of 5 posts on my photo-journal blog about our visit to Querétaro and the surrounding area.

See: http://cookjmex.blogspot.com/search/label/Queretaro

Sorry the link is not "hot". Just paste it into your browser's url line. I'm not smart enough to figure out how to make an active link on this forum. The series starts with part 5 and if you want, you can scroll down to part 1 and work back or just begin with part 5. Each part is self-contained so it doesn't really matter.

Enjoy your visit!
