How can I set up a Star Choice account ?

Now that I know I would need 2 very large dishes to set up my Dish Network system and receive signals 100 miles south of
Guadalajara, it may be time to look another direction. I will be in the States until August. I can buy the Star Choice receivers
take them to Mexico but how can I set up an account with the company. I do not have an address in Canada. I've heard some people share their system but I really don't know anyone who has availabilty Any thoughts ??

If you can't find it searching here in the Chapala section then you certainly will on Chapala.com. There's someone in the area that will help setup an account, sell you what you need and even install it.

Sharing or Stacking an account is illegal and I can not allow posts about stealing on this forum. However be you from the States, Mexico, or Mars :) and you wish to pay for an account, then this is not stealing. It's a grey market issue, and no one other than perhaps the CRTC really cares.

You mentioned you lived 100 miles south of Guadalajara. I'm 25 miles south of the city and live on the north shores of Lake Chapala. Looking at Google, if you're 100 miles south of the City, I'm guessing you live on the other side of the mountains south of Lake Chapala facing the Pacific Ocean.

If you could say where you are at, when you're up North and about where you will be living down south I could better recommend who to check with to save money. For example, if you live near BC, or Ontario, but in the US, I can recommend good sources up north.

PS: when I proofed this, it sounded negative, and that's not my intent. It's just that I have always paid for the programming I watch and am against stacking.

I got a great PM from jwander explaining where he was coming from. Sadly, today I had to complete my article for the
guad Reporter and Tuesday I'm traveling I will answer said post as soon as I can, unless someone else can earlier.

How's it going? A PM is a PM and although I bet our friend doesn't mind if I say where he's moving to, I can't say, just because it's a PM. What I can say is that he believes in paying for his subscription and that he does not live near Canada.
