Traveling Mexico 1943

I received the link for this video in my inbox today. Since we are talking approximately 68 years ago, I was quite surprised by the quality of the roads but I would guess that these were not the norm.

I got that link this morning also, thanks to a post on MoreliaConnect from Jennifer Rose. What a fun video. It (even) makes me want to go take another look at Acapulco. Talk about nostalgic!

For some reason, the link takes you to the video about 3/4 of the way through. Once your at Youtube, just drag the player thing back to the beginning to see the whole thing.

Thanks Tashby! I had started the video from the beginning and picked up the link assuming that it would start from the proper spot.

The link which follows will take you to the beginning:

Something isn't right. I know it says so on the Youtube site, but I seriously doubt that film is from 1943. Take a closer look at the cars, the men's suits, and especially, the women's bathing suits.

I gotta think that was shot in the late 1950's at the earliest. Maybe someone more mature than I can date it more accurately. It's all before my time!

Tashby:

It must be your mission to make me work today! Your question raised some doubt in my mind but with a bit of research, I found:

Here is a link to one he did on Modern Mexico City (1942):

Rats. I'm spectacularly wrong again! Thanks for the link to the Mexico City one....now THAT looks like it's from the early 1940's.

Cheers.
