where to turn in FMM when leaving Reynosa

We are driving NORTH to Reynosa and thence into Texas. Where do we stop, prior to the US border to turn in our FMM? Thanks for your responses.

Before you get your heart set on Reynosa, you might wish to catch up on the current news out of that area and make contact with Altahabana on this forum about the advisability of using that crossing.

I am committed to that crossing for business reasons...I must meet someone on the US side...but thanks for the advice....how about where to turn in the FMM if I "survive?"

Disclaimer - I've never been to or crossed at Reynosa. I just know how to use Google map and street view. ;-)

There are several crossings in the Reynosa area but assuming you mean the downtown one into Hidalgo, here is a street view of where you handle the car permit. So when you are approaching the bridge and see this sign don't follow the sign pointing to the bridge (those blue signs are telling you which lane is which for crossing), follow the red van (and white pickup) down the narrow lane which goes to the immigration building. This is if you are approaching from the east side.

From the west side, look for this sign for the lanes crossing the bridge, instead go right and follow that road along keeping left and you end up at this sign which is the same sign in the first link.

Here's the overhead map of the whole area covered above. Expand the above map views for a better view.

For all I know there may be a booth right on one of the lanes leading across the bridge but google apparently isn't allowed to photo past those blue signs.

"If I survive" is not hyperbole although I'm sure you intended it to be. I was in Reynosa yesterday to visit family friends. Reynosa itself is not the problem. If your plan for the trip north to Reynosa takes you through central Tamaulipas I really question your judgment. It is a three hour drive from Laredo to McAllen. While Nuevo Laredo is notThe model of tranquility, it is hands down a better choice than Nuevo Kanduhar a/k/a central/south Tamaulipas.

There is an immigration station at the new Andaluzas (sp?) Bridge across from Mission and it is very accessible.

This is from today's Wall Street Journal. To some of us this is old news but now it is very mainstream.
