You can open a BofA acct online without ever walking into a bank. I did. they also have Safe Send where they will wire for FREE money from your acct to any bank or whatever in Mexico. In addition, you can withdraw from the ATM.

Is this with a Mexican address? I don't believe that SafeSend will send it to any bank account - only Santander. I believe that this must be set up in the US.

I'm not sure what you want clarified, but BofA will send money to a bank or anywhere that can accept wire transfers in Mexico. They do not charge a fee, but the receiving facility may. If it's a bank probably not. What I like about it, as opposed to direct deposit in Mexico, is that I have a little control over when my money gets exchanged and at what rate. They do have a $1500 limit per transaction and $3000 limit per month. If I need more than that, I can use my ATM. If you have a US address, you can open an acct online. A phone call is all it takes to have the money sent.

Are you signed up for SafeSend and if so, have you used it?

My experience with SafeSend is that you have to collect the money in a particular bank – like Santander – but you can pick it up without having an account there – all you need is the code number of the transaction and official ID – but in that case you receive your money in cash, which of course wouldn’t be practical for safety reasons. It worked for me because I was receiving miniscule payments from US clients for small jobs.

According to the BofA website they will send the money to one of 5700 payment offices.

As I said, I opened my acct online and use it all the time. I have not yet had the need to use safe send, so I have not used it. I am going by what they have told me.
