The availability of sugar in Mexico

All the sugar that I have seen in Mexico's restraunts are coarse textured with a light brown hint of color. I wish to do some candy making on a upcomming six month visit and would like to know if I can buy at Gigante, or the like, PURE granulated cane sugar? It must not have cornstarch added. Something like "Dixie Crystal" brand.
