Good Morning All,

I did not wish to hijack another posters post Legalizing Car Through Mexican Spouse , hence te reason for this post. I also am married to a Mexican National, I have an FM 2 a nd I would like to import my 5 year old two axle cargo trailer. Are the rules for a non motorized vehicle the same as for a motorized vehicle as it relates to nationalizing the unit? One poster to Willie's post suggested there are only a few POE's where one can have nationalizing of a motor vehicle completed. Would this be the same as for a motorized vehicle? (I would think yes). Would this be a Transito or an Aduana issue? I would think it would be an Aduana issue only relinquishing to Transito upon after import of the unit for licensing etc. Does anyone know of such a POE office that could handle this issue along the Texas / Mexico border (hopefully with the exception of Matamoros?

Thanks for any knowledge you might want to share about this subject.

My spouse and I will be passing through Laredo and nationalizing a truck and 2 trailers sometime late next week - I'll report back. (The second truck is newer and made in Japan - no nationalizing for it :(

I went that way last time and it seems like a pretty safe route. How do they establish the value of the trailer? Do you know?
