When traveling by car, I agree with you Rolly - 110%. I've only EVER heard of one person who was asked for the paperwork on their dog when crossing the border in a vehicle. The only other vehicle border crossing issue involving animals I've heard about was someone who had four dogs in the car (some report that the limit is two, but I've never been able to confirm this.) However, there has been A LOT more emphasis and inspection at the airports - especially the requirement for the internal and external parasite treatments. I have heard or received email at my website of over ten cases (involving dogs and cats) since December, 2010 at the airports. Two of these situations involved quarantining the cat. And, in a few cases, some peso's exchanged hands to get things resolved. http://www.GringoDog.com - Pet Friendly Travel in Mexico and the USA
