Here's an interesting project currently blooming on the internet - "What is there now?" The idea is take antique pictures of buildings of architectural interest, and then google earth takes you to what is there now. So far, mostly U.S. based, with some in the U.K., but not a single entry from Mexico so far. http://whatwasthere.com/browse.aspx#/ll/49.145343,-91.464192

Cannot say that I fully understand the concept but I did see a report on GOOGLE Goggles:

As near as I could gather, it is still a work in progress.

That's really a remarkable concept. I live in the outback of Veracruz, Mexico that is still saddled with mostly mostly 2004, and very few images from 2006.
So while waiting for something more current, I have downloaded and saved dozens of areas waiting to compare them to the present.
