Libre 80 towards San Juan de Las Lagos

Northeast from Guadalajara I have only taken the 80D cuota up towards San Juan. I'm wondering if anyone has taken the free road 80 up as far as, say, Tepatitlan? Looks like that would save about 100 pesos in tolls. Anyone know how good or bad the free road is up that far... road condition and traffic?
