Rhubarb in Jalisco/Michoacan?

Can't Post |

Does anyone know where to buy rhubarb? My dictionary says it's "ruibarbo" in Spanish, but we're thinking there might be a Najuatl name for it that we don't know.

There was a rumored sighting of it at Los Abastos in Guadalajara. We went there today and asked every single fruit vendor in the place if they had any. Not only did they not have any, they'd never heard of ruibarbo.

If anyone knows where one can find it and/or what name it goes by, we'd appreciate some help.
gracias

Rhubarb will not grow well unless it is exposed to freezing temperatures in the winter. You'd have to find it imported. It is one of the hardiest vegetable - growing well into northern Canada. It would grow in norhtern Mexico - and I bet the mennonites in Chihuahua grow it. Hope it leads you in the right direction.
