I flew to Mexico and back with my dog on Mexicana airlines. The airline ALMOST made the same mistake with me that they have made with you- they booked a connecting flight on a plane without capacity for live cargo, but a second clerk noticed the discrepancy, and basically I had to change my itinerary.
In my opinion you should stick with Mexicana- but you might have to fly a different route and find overland transportation to your original destination.

: I recently made a reservation to fly from the US to DF and then on to Tuxtla with my dog, in a crate, in the cargo area. Originally, Mexicana told me this would not be a problem, so I booked the DF to Tuxtla portion of the flight with them. Today, when I called to confirm the internet booking, they told me that there are NO flights that go from DF to Tuxtla that will take a dog in the cargo area becasue it is not pressurized and that my only option to get the dog from the airport to Chiapas is sending her as cargo at a later time. Does anyone know, through personal experience, of ANY airline within Mexico that will fly dogs? Please respond ASAP as I am supposed to be leaving next week. Thanks for your help.
