The anti-violence programs do not increase violence. In my town in the USA, we don't have a big anti-violence program, because we do not have a lot of violence. There was a nationally publicized murder case that the local police bungled, but that was partly because they get very little practice in investigating murders. There are some specific anti-violence programs for women, safehouses and night rides. But if you live in a town with heavy violence, then civic minded people get together to try to reduce the violence, although these programs have limited effectiveness. Equally, if there is an alcohol problem there will be AA meetings to respond to the problem. I see more AA signs in Mexico than in the USA. As far as I know, AA is at least as successful as any other form of alcohol treatment, and costs a lot less, so more power to them. The sugar free sweeteners may or may not increase or decrease your weight. (The studies go both ways, as I recall). But if weight is not a concern, then people use sugar instead of sugar free sweeteners, if only because it tastes better. When two things are correlated, from a statistical standpoint, it does not prove cause and effect. If A and B seem to be correlated (concentrated in the same places or groups), that does not mean that A causes B or that B causes A. It might be that there is something else, a root cause C, that causes both A and B. Dog, I will guess that you and I agree on this topic. Richard http://www.fergusonsculpture.com
