Driving Down to Southern Towns

It used to be a lot of fun to drive through Mexico City from Toluca through Santa Fe and then though the center of the megalopolis and out on the Puebla Highway and what a fine drive that was but we no longer need to do that as we cruise down the Arco Norte but the point of this post is to tell the driver considering this drive from northern and western Mexico to southern Mexico what a treasure they are missiing by bipassing the magnificent valley of Mexico but, what the hell, you are not going to drive through there anyway because of the notoriously crooked cops and the chance you will run into traffic obstructions. Your eternal loss. So be it. Dawg won´t drive through that potential hellhole any longer either. A lost treasure to be bemoaned.

Soon, Dawg will be traversing Tuxtla Gutierrez just before heading up the escarpment to the Jovel Valley. A fine drive and worth the journey.
